Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Smooth Wrinkles, Add Volume, and Contour

Dermal Fillers are injectable gels that are a non-invasive, non-surgical method of addressing and correcting wrinkles and folds in the facial areas. Dermal Fillers add volume to the skin, smooth lines and plump areas that have lost shape or definition. Made from an injectable gel composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), dermal fillers deliver nutrients to help our skin retain softness, moisture and repair damage.

Dermal Filler treatments can refresh your appearance by smoothing away unwanted lines and bringing back the natural contours of your face. We only use the #1 doctor-recommended facial fillers in Canada and worldwide.

Botox ® blocks the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox® essentially paralyzes the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from Botox® are visible within two to four days with results that can last anywhere from four to six months.

Questions

Dermal Fillers contain a pain-reducing local anesthetic to help manage any discomfort, ensuring the process is as painless as possible. Your Medical Practitioner will also apply a topical numbing cream to mitigate further discomfort.

The injection part itself is approximately 30 minutes, though we allow for a 1 hour booking time for new guests to ensure you are comfortable and thoroughly informed during your treatment.

Downtime is typically minimal with Dermal Fillers and most people can return to work or normal activities right away. Some swelling, tenderness and/or bruising is normal with injectables and typically only lasts a couple of days.

Typically, you will see results immediately. Optimal results present approximately two weeks after treatment once swelling subsides and the product settles. Depending on the area being treated, Dermal Fillers can last between 6-24 months.

Dermal fillers are only a temporary fix and therefore is not permanent. In order to keep up with the results if you choose too, it is required to continuously get touch ups, as fillers only last between 6 months to a year, depending on the product being used. Higher end products tend to last longer, such as the ones we use in the clinic, JUVEDERMÒ and Restylane.

In terms of botox and dermal filler, one is not better than the other, as they each are used for different and some similar reasons. It all depends on the result you want to achieve, in which the specialist will determine which product will be used in order to get the best result. Both products are equally as popular and used in the cosmetic industry.

The treatment relaxes the muscle beneath the lines at the point of injection. Other elements of your facial expression remain active. It also has no effect on the sensory nerves, which means you will experience normal sensations in the treated areas. So you’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable lines. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done.
